William Flynt Gallagher, President
Compensation and Benefit Services are directed by Flynt Gallagher.  Flynt’s expertise in this area is extensive, having supported a variety of financial institutions with many banks of particular note over the last several years. Prior to joining Meyer-Chatfield, Flynt served as Vice President and Tax Manager of First Union National Bank and Florida National Bank, as well as operating his own consulting firm.  Additionally, he has over ten years of experience at the manager and partner level in the field of public accounting.  While at First Union (now Wachovia) and Florida National Bank, Flynt was tasked with reviewing and designing compensation plans designed to retain current and future wealth for executives of large banks (including First Union, First Tennessee, etc.) as well as community banks doing business with First Union.  Additionally, Flynt performed similar services for key clients of these banks as well as handling income tax and related IRS issues for these clients.

With this experience, Flynt began offering these services to the banking community-at-large in the early 1990’s and has been improving and refining these skills ever since. He focuses on attracting, motivating and retaining personnel critical to the success of financial institutions, particularly through the proper use and design of performance- based compensation plans (i.e. cash incentive plans, equity allocation plans and even performance-based deferred compensation plans).  Key features of his plan designs are ease of administration, quantifiable performance and competitive awards.
